Good Morning Everyone!
I hope everyone is having a great 2017 fawn season! I had a few scenarios and was wondering if I could get some advice. I'm bottle feeding three doe fawns right now and have had little to no problems. This year though I'm having some issues and wanted to hear everyone's thoughts.
Scenario 1: I have a 4 week old and 6 week old fawn in the one pen which are coughing on and off sometimes before sometimes after feedings. I have cut ounces back thinking I was over feeding but right now I have them both around 10 ounces 3 times a day. I have changed nipple sizes, tried holding bottles flat so less milk comes out. but they continue to do it.
Scenario 2: The 2 week old fawn has been scouring for quite sometime now and I have used yogurt, pumpkin and pepto bismal but she will not get hard. I gave her some fawn paste this morning. Is there anything else anyone uses to help with scours? Were using ultra 24 milk replacer and red cap (50/50). I have her around 5 ounces 4 times a day. She seems to breathing a little heavier as well so I think I'm going administer some antibiotics. What is everyone thoughts?
