The North American Elk Breeders Association (NAEBA) has voted to create a raffle to generate funds to devote to the American Cervid Alliance mission. The winner of the raffle will be able choose between a 200” white tail buck, a 375-400” bull elk or a Ruger AR-15 rifle. The lucky winner will be able to hunt the animal or sell the animal if they don’t choose the rifle. The drawing will take place on Saturday, August 3rd at the NAEBA Convention and International Antler Competition. The winner need not be present.
Tickets will be sold for $20.
We are looking for any ranch or supporter that is willing to offer to donate one of the animals (200” whitetail buck or 375-400” bull elk), their preserve for a hunt or a cash donation. We are doing Gold, Silver, and Bronze cash donations of $500, $250, and $100 respectively. Several ranches have signed up to put their hat in the ring to offer to donate the hunt and or the animal already. The odds are low if your animal or preserve will be actually be used. It is up to the discretion of the winner and there could be the possibly the winner will chose the rifle. A generous elk ranch in Wisconsin has already offered to sponsor the donation costs of the rifle. Some ranches are not able to donate a hunt but have opted to contribute a couple hundred dollars to create pot of money to help reimburse the hunt donor. If the winner does actually pick to hunt the animal you donated then you receive the rifle as a thank you as well as up to $5000 in “reimbursement funds” raised.
Please let me know if you are able to make any donation offer or are willing to sell raffle tickets. You can reach me at (701) 595-1644.
Thank you

NAEBA Director, Western Region
