Yes, I agree, state by state.

How are we going to accomplish this with states signing up for CWD Rule now? Dr. Clifford made it clear in Washington, 60 days to complete the Standards Working Group, then it goes to public comment. Unless you all have real deep pockets to take litigation.

We are in the process of getting the funds together to take ours to court. The best part here is that one of our Dept of Ag guys believes DEC should be involved in cervids. Because of cwd and wildlife i believe he is right. They should be made AWARE of whats going on with deer because they do have to take care of our wild population but they should have no say as to any way a farm is ran.Dept of Ag can keep them abreast.

None of us want to see cwd in the wild so yes we all have to work within our own states, with our Ag Depts to do all we can to keep it under control.

I agree going the litigation route will require money........we need to be willing to donate towards this fight.........we purchase semen and deer for thousands and thousands of dollars but yet when it comes to hiring a lawyer to help save our Industry from a certain collapse we all clam up......not sure I get that one......We need to be willing to reach deep and yes we need to ALL pitch in and donate towards this fight.....otherwise we ALL LOSE!

Mike, I know what a nightmare you are about to face in New York. Too bad.

Yes, we are all be concerned about keeping CWD under control in the wild and farmed herds. But a five year quarantine for infected/exposed animals, certainly is not the logical answer to keeping any disease under control!! Let's just put the owners out of business and keep the exposed animals on the landscape!

It's not about management, it's about the money. Which explains the release of the infected/exposed animals from Wind Cave just two months after we were required to destroy 225 head of whitetails at our hunting preserve and close our doors, again out of business.

You are 100% correct and you would think any lawyer worth his salt could preach that to a judge and show the two faced standards. I believe Wind Cave will be our saving grace in the end. The public see's this and continues to be shown what cwd is not.

I know up here nothing is going to change untill papers are filed and then when the higher ups in Govt of Ny, That im sure has no clue as to the whole story,See's papers at to the state is being sued by deer farmers it might open some eyes. Now would be a good time to hit seeing Ny is under fire with the Ny gun safe act and all.

It does suck in your farms case and i believe you will be the stepping stone to our future and hopefully someday we will all be able to return a favor!
