Thanks for the comments guys. I sincerely mean that.

Scott, I never asked for advice on dosage rates. I simply asked if anyone had noticed problems with the tolozine. I have done the same thing for many years when darting deer, I should still be getting the same reaction (within reason). For some reason I am not getting it now. All I asked was if anyone had encountered the same situation.

BTW, I am not thin skinned at all. I don't care how many deer you've darted and how many posts you have. Does that entitle you to be a ********? If you want to help someone, then genuinely help them. It can be done without being degrading to someone. Lack of respect toward me, will get you the same in return. As far as giving more advice, here is the advice I will give you. If you can't say anything nice, just don't say it. Have a nice day !!

Jack, what you failed to understand was my comment was directed to Mark concerning an inside joke we shared. It wasn't about you, but you decided to make it so. Now you have resorted to calling me names? I hope you have a blessed day.

Scott,

what you have failed to understand is the fact that I created this thread to ask a serious question about something I observed with my deer and a problem that I encountered. Perhaps you picked the wrong place and wrong time to have your "inside joke". I didn't find it funny. Since I was the one asking the question, then I can only assume all answers are directed toward me. You should clarify your responses, especially if someone is to expect them to be funny.

"If ur thin skinned don't ask foradvise in a public forum", is a statement you had made earlier on this thread. SO, I will reply...If you don't like my remark, don't be a jerk on a public forum.

Hope your feeling better.

It is still on backorder. Maybe there are issues with quality raw product. I would suggest getting it from Zoopharm.

We are not on backorder here. We have bought 3 bottles since then and have not had any bad issues with it. Works as it always has for me!

I have had several bad experiences with reversal that was labeled tolezine. It was in brown bottles that came from a supplier in PA when the normal supplier was backordered for a long time. I had used the normal Tolezine we bought from our local vet that was factory labeled in a clear bottle many times with no problems ever. I bought the other two brown bottles when we couldn't get our normal supply. I got it through our local vet, but told him where a friend had found it available in PA. The first two times I used this reversal in the brown bottle from PA I did not make the connection that the deer that died had been reversed with that supply. The second occasion I had to use it was on a good sized buck in good health that we cut horns on. This buck was very ill for three days after the reversal from the brown bottle. He was very sluggish when he finally was able to get up several hours after we used it. He was cold, shivering and foamy saliva from his mouth. It took nearly a week for him to get back to normal. Just a few days earlier we had used the same tranquilizer but used the clear botttle "tolizine" reversal on several other bucks with very good quick recovery and no ill affects. I accidentally dropped the one brown bottle Tolezine on a cement floor and broke and lost the rest of that first bottle. The second bottle was still full.

The final occurance that clearly defined the problem with the PA brown bottle reversal was not hard to realize. It had been some time since we had used the brown bottle reversal and normal supplier again had shipped our vet the clear bottle, factory labeled, in the box Tolozine. We purchased a full bottle and began to use that and left the brown bottle reversal in storage. We had a little suspicion but didn't realize the how bad the PA supplied brown bottle reversal was. Over a couple months we used the same tranquilizer and used the clear bottle reversal with absolutely no problems. Then it happened. One day we were doing some testing and removing antlers. We had darted 11 deer. It was getting dark when we finished. The reversal (clear bottle) fell out of my coat pocket and we could not find it in the dark. We ran and got the brown bottle reversal and used it on the last three deer, two does and our biggest buck who was about 300 lbs. The two does were groggy not coming to well and the buck had raised his head and we went in for the night. We got out very early the next morning to check on them. All the deer we reversed with the clear bottle reversal were doing great. The two does we reversed with the brown bottle were nearly dead. we lifted them up got them to move a little but within two to three hours they both died. The weather was not cold and they were shivering and ill. Our big buck was in very poor condition. We were scared he would die also. We stayed in the pen with him and got him to get up every half hour or so. In about 5 hours he could stand fairly stable and we continued to watch him all day. He made it, but it took him nearly a week to get back to near normal. For the next couple weeks he still looked weak and he slowly recovered to full health. I wrote the manufacturer of the clear bottle tolezine to let them know what we had experienced and that they may want to investigate who was repackaging the "tolezine" into brown bottles and labeling it. There is no doubt in my mind that this was not the same drug. The last experience we had with the brown bottle reversal woke us up. We then recognized we had lost 4 deer to this and nearly lost two important bucks. Prior to the brown bottle reversal I argued with anyone that suggested it is risky to put deer down with the drugs we had used because it was always good experience with them going down and quick recovery with tolezine reversal. The brown bottle reversal from the PA supplier gave us the nightmare we had heard about before but did not understand. Please feel free to call me if you have any questions. 218-686-6148.

Wow.....thanks for the heads up Rodney.....as I was reading your post it made me sick to my stomach....I lost my first deer in seven years to reversal this Fall and of course it was my breeder buck he was my pride an joy....anyhow, I was running Low on reversal as we were tb testing and I had to borrow some reversal from a friend...and he had the stuff in a brown bottle.......wow.....it will never be used on this farm again.......thanks again!

one word.....BAM

very sorry for your losses Rodney and Dennis. Been there done that and it sucks.

I had the exact same experience with the brown bottle but did not put 2 and 2 together. The three deer did not die but it took them hours before they got up and then acted extremely groggy even into the next day.

One doe was down for 4 1/2 hours with extremely shallow breathing. We thought she was dead. Interestingly, we rushed back to deer barn to get meds and grabbed the clear bottle. She was up and moving in 15 minutes after the reversal.

Has anyone contacted this company?
