Better listen!!!!

Thanks for the thumbs up on our show Jack. One of our objectives was to inform people about the lifestyle of deer farming. We repeatedly say it isn't a job or even a hobby, but a true lifestyle. It is 24/7. There is a great deal that goes into it and we spend a lot of time on health care and the general comfort of our animals. We also show that the end market is the hunt. We want to people to be informed about what we do because one of our biggest enemies is ignorance. Please keep watching because viewership numbers are important to our sponsors. Also use of their products - let them know you saw their ads etc. We need their support to continue. Thanks again!

Yes Wayne we are moving in the right direction. We needed to be proactive instead of not responding. People need to know what this industry is about and what the end use of these animals is. They need to know on farm harvesting with hunting methods is the most humane method of slaughter for these animals. A few of us did put on TV ads in 2000 but we couldn't get support from the Montana deer and elk industry people to keep it up. The Montana deer and elk industry didn't want to spend the money and didn't believe the critics would be able to close us down. Public ignorance about the industry is what closed us down in Montana.

One more thing - repetition! People need to see and hear things over and over before they really absorb them. Our show is on every week on two different channels, Pursuit and Rural TV, which I think are different audiences. Our hope is that when an issue regarding deerfarming comes up, people will think about our show and think what's the problem with that? It seems like a very natural thing to do, raise deer, not some strange weird endeavor. Most people don't have a problem with people raising buffalo, so how is this different? Once people understand it they accept it and it is no big deal.
