Just wondering what everyones thoughts were about breeding thru A/I some of todays" power does" to some of the super sires of " THE OLD SCHOOL" and what your choices would be. Thinking of doing it in the near future and thought this might be fun to see what everyone else's thoughts and pix's would be and the marketability would be?

We went back and put Poncho to a Banhsee doe, and got trip doe fawns. Not bad is it? I also have thought about going back to Silver Hawk and using him, he has produced some very good, big animals for us with average does, now putting in more power what will he do. Just a couple of ideas.

We are still using some of our Jack the Ripper does and they are producing! WRW Rex is Highroller on a Jack doe, Blue River is a Blue. Mt. Bill on a Jack doe, WRW Buzz is a Highroller on a Jack doe, Fast Eddy is a RDM Goliath on a Jack doe, our yearlings out of Avalanche are out of Jack does -the list goes on and on.

This is my super duper dream doe and why. To start with the grand dam Thunder on a PA doe. Next the dam is BJ he is on the bottom side of the last two years of super bucks Sundowner and this years Maxbo Harcore. Next the sire MartyGraw, Maxbo, BW Sunny or Little Boomer. So your doe would look like this lets say.

MartyGraw

BJ/Thunder/PA

The reason is start with a PA doe. Then Thunder because Thunder grand children are huge(Mike Nedry's stock). BJ Daughters are throwing giant sons, and MartyGraw, Maxbo, BW Sunny or Little Boomer for your super sire. "SCARY"

Now top that with the latest greatest stuff.

And you can build this doe for pennies on the dollar except for Maxbo compared to the newer unproven sires. If that don't work I quit.:D

thunder, banshee, highroller, avalanche p/a,max,sunny,bucky,poncho,bj the list goes on and on some old some not so old but were always chasing the next big buck of the year. what IF we stayed old school with the top side and went with the latest and greatest on the dam side ???????? got you thinking didn't it ? what else you GOT?

I think High Roller is one of the greatest "Old School" bucks out there. Last year I read (somewhere) that High Roller had more 300"+ sons than any other sire. I'm not sure if that still holds true, but , other than Goliath, High Roller was the only 400" buck for quite some time. Last year I put High Roller into 2 Rolex daughters and one stuck , giving me a single large buck fawn. I am excited to see hew he turns out. There are super does produced from various bloodlines. I think if you can line breed out of any one of these bloodlines then get a super sire from older days, your product has a better chance of being a big stud or another super doe that will produce well for you. Just my opinion.
