I have a 3 week old buck fawn that is not feeling well . He looks bloated to me and when he runs or walks i can hear water sloching around in him, i gave him .5 cc sub q and.5 cc of drax im last night but hes not getting better! I have a call into the vet but i thought i would try and get a direction on here. Any clues? Thanks jim

that is a good sign of bloat, For the record I have a little doe that does that right after feeding for about 20 min then she is fine. you can drench him with some baking soda and water. Just make sure you go slow and dont drown him. If you dont have a drench gun use a syringe with out a needle and a short piece of tubing. squirt it toward the back of his throat between his teeth and his cheek. He wont swallow all of it and may blow some back in your face ( I think that is why they call this drench lol) but if you go slow he will swallow enough to help relieve the gas.
