Sarg6207 said:Guys I do not not normally respond or post on these forums but I would like to let all know that there is a growing number of individuals who believe we are at a crossroad in our industry. We can continue to negotiate and compromise until we negotiate and compromise ourselves right out of business or become so heavily regulated we can no longer stay in business or we can say enough is enough. This is really a very simple matter; continue with the status quo or take control of our own destiny. This is our industry. We certainly need to control the spread of CWD and minimize the risk to captive as well as all wild cervids but not to the point of shutting down an industry or putting hard working farmers and ranchers out of business when or if it is discovered in the next state or the next deer pen. I encourage all to ask the question, " am I better off today than yesterday and how many of my friends are no longer in the business." There is a tremendous amount of work being done to correct the current CWD standards. This has been a slow process but is rapidly coming to an end. Industry will have to decide whether to accept these revisions or to say we do not want them. Either way just know there are many who are working to keep this industry the very best in can be. I invite everyone who is a part of the industry to be on the industry conference call April 9 at 8:00 PM central time. This is the American Cervid Alliance meeting of associations to discuss and plan industry's future course.
