I truly have seen the need for this!!, many times when time arises, would be nice for those in need of emergency Help, well would be nice to call for help and not feel burdned,no question is a dumd question,we all been there! or maybe you just need advice on starting. or darting question, AI, i know most , all i met sure like to talk deer,:D

I'm with you.

I don't know everything...but we can try and talk through anything (724)735-9924

Write everything down if it's fawns I have a note book I can tell you everything about any of my deer I write down poop,pee,... little,, lot brown ,black, runny, ect. if the fawn is shy ect...Did they eat 3oz 2oz ???

My fawns are in the house first few days if peeing on their own they are in a kennel or with me. If they are not peeing they have free run. I want to see what is normal to each fawn and note it Because you don't have long when something is not right I want to know the second something is off.

Take notes on everything and have them when you call.

Over the years I`ve made plenty of mistakes and if I can help someone from making those same mistakes. When I started I didn`t have access to this amount of people with the knowledge to help quickly. So what I have learned came from death and necropcies. Not the best way to learn. If you have a problem and need help you can email me or call. The more details the better. Visual and a thermometer is the best way to detect illness. Remember with fawns, their eyes tell alot.

Bright clear eyes :D

Dull cloudy eyes ( Sad eyes ) :(

The number of posts do not reflect the depth of one's knowledge.....just how much they flap their gums (or fingers in this case) Ha-Ha!

Great idea DC and thanks to all who share their knowledge!

Let's take this a couple of steps further. Let's compile a list of symptoms and possible causes. Many times, I have to refer to my journal to see if the symptoms I see in a deer are those I have seen before. What I usually find is that I have treated the same symptoms before and usually found the cause. I have some real weird ones too with no explanation. If you will send your entries to me by email, I will collect them in a spread sheet and post them on this forum. I will update the list from time to time and post. Please submit the information in the following form:

Symptoms (brief but accurate explanation of the animals condition/behavior)

Possible Causes (list of conditions that can cause the symptoms being observed)

Possible Treatment (list of treatments for the possible causes related to the symptoms)

What do yall think?

Scott that's a great idea !! When can we start ? I'm game !...lol Of course I'll just watch though !! Just a thought .. :)
