Hey guys looking for some help .I got a yearling buck and doe in my pen 2 days ago... the first day he chased her some ran her into fence a bit and nicked her nose but nothing serious. today she laid around and didnt even stand up when brought them apples.. Very friendly at there previous home... Also they have drank but not eatin very much at all.. should i be concerned or are they just adapting?? thanks

JohnM deer seem to take a little while to adapt to there new surroundings. Every deer is different you said they were very friendly so im assuming they are bottle fed. Best thing would probably be just to give them a few days. The buck chasing the doe it is that time of year he may be preoccupied and not care about his new surroundings. The positive thing is also that you have them together one deer by themselves get pretty stressed they like the companions. Jon Browning

ok thats what i thought just nervous about something happening to her... they dont seem to mind being closer to the road then there previous home too i ordered more shade cloth for them as well....anything i should do?

We actually have a perimiter fence around six pens. The whole perimiter is seven acres and it is all done with shade cloth also. I'm sure some of the better guys on these forums will kick in here to and let you know. I don't know of anything else you could do except read these forums all of the time ver valuable information comes through here. Jon Browning

they seem to be doin better i watched them both eat and drink i talked to some people and he may have her "locked down" is reason she doesnt get up much....
