Doe after Birth?!?

I have a 4 year old doe that gave birth to quads Thursday evening. We notice that she pushed out the after-birth that evening and she has been taking care of the fawns and feeding/drinking like normal. My concern is every time she lays down on her side she will raise her tail and stretch her neck out like she is having contractions and still in labor. It's been 72 hours since she fawned, does it sometimes take this long for a doe to clean out or could there possibly be another undeveloped fawn in her that she isn't able to pass? Does anyone know if you knock a doe out if the meds will infect the milk for the fawns? Thanks for any advice or suggestions.

I wouldn't sedate her. I have seen doe do this for 48 hrs but never72. I would guess she has torn her vulva or ****** a little more than the norm. I doubt there is another dead fawn if she had four healthy ones. I would dart her with 2cc of banimine & 2cc of Draxxin. Jerri Lee or another DVM will give you better more educated advice. I went ahead with what I'd do. I know these drugs won't hurt her or the fawns.

Good luck

I appreciate the advice and will be keeping a close eye on her tomorrow since I am off work. All four fawns are healthy but 1 was a lot smaller than the other 3 so we have him started on the bottle. Ended up 3 bucks 1 doe (Tombstone over Boomerang doe). Probably wouldn't be as concerned if I hadn't read the post about the doe that had 5 fawns and we've never had a doe act like she is still in labor this long afterwards. Thanks,
