EHD...Death runs in the family tree ?

We have had 3 adults out of close to 50 adults and 50 fawns get ehd so far. All three were yearlings and out of the same buck. We lost the first being a doe on Wed. The other two are bucks and started 2 days ago. One is doing better and the other so so. Going to knock him down with bam again today and treat him again. The other started with sore feet. We knocked both down initially to treat and move them in the barn away from the others. This strain is not as acute/severe as others have experienced. We lost their sire last year on Labor day. We thought it was because of the heat 100 deg and a full winter hair coat. This now makes me think he had ehd. No signs other than lethargic. No signs on necropsy just some old changes in a lung. He was the only one affected.

What are your thoughts? I have a some fawn does.

I found out that the father was hit by ehd pretty

Bad. The fawns are about four months. And, are several

hours away. I am beyond scared, but, what are

Your thoughts. I also think it is in the family.

lost the second one this morning. The best yearling of course. I did get some semen and froze it. It is just odd how they dont show much for signs other than lethargy and swelling around the eyes.

Has anyone tried giving them mannitol IV? Mannitol is used for swelling on the brain in cases of head trauma. I have used it in horses that had west nile with some success.
