Can someone tell me where I can order one of those fawn cradles or a similar product? I promised myself last year after tagging fawns on my own, that I would get one before this season. Thanks.

Yes, i can add to that. it is the best thing i ever used. Good luck this year to all with their fawns.

Why buy one when you can make one ? My first one was from a motel that held suitcases. It would fold up and was made from tubing and canvas. I used it one year and designed something better.A square yard of canvas or heavy material with four holes for the legs and bring up both sides up to a point and attach two clips you use on shade cloth. I hang this on a s hook on the bottom of a scale. You have to trim to access the head and rear. AS they hang there you weigh, tag and give shots. This has worked great for the last two years.I did glue a 2 inch x 15 stiff cardboard strips on side each to stiffen it up a little. They can kick but just hang there and you have both hands free.

Sounds like a pretty neet idea you should make a few to sell. Do you have a picture of it you could post to give a better idea of how to make.

My wife is making ours from a luggage stand from a motel too. I ll post a pic as soon as I find our camera. The luggage stand she bought off of ebay for 20 dollars and the 2'x3' piece of material cost 2 dollars.

whew . . . I thought we were encouraging each other to take the luggage stands from our hotel rooms . . . I just went to ebay, and they're all over the place (probably from other people stealing them out of their hotel rooms :)) . . . it looks like a great (and pretty simple) idea to make one for yourself. Thanks for the tips!

Thanks for the picture. That looks like a nice set up might have to try something like that.

Here are a few pics of our fawn cradle !

We used a piece of 90% shade cloth I had left over from pens. My wife is going to sew a piece of fabric around the leg holes to keep it from seperating or running. But canvas tarp or anyother heavy-duty material should work. We have about 25 dollars in our cradle not counting the 15 cents an hr I pay my wife for her labor ! Ha Ha !

That's funny :D

Yea, I was wondering if that was shade cloth how you kept it from tearing.

If she sees that post she might not be giving you any kinda of labor but that was funny.
