I got a 6 month bottle fed fawn, she isn't very big has not put on much weight and had diarea. I brought her inside gave her Draxin and called the vet. The vet gave her Bose. Vit-b, and a worm shot, took stool sample, the sample had some cossida and liver flukes, she gave me then Valbazon for the flukes and another pill for the Cossida, now she seems to have water-druel dripping from her mouth, is this normal from meds? or is something else going on? If she had the liver flukes should I worry about rest of the heard?

I have seen animals have a reaction to Valbazon and druel but not for more than a day or two.

If one animal has liver flukes the rest will also so the whole herd shpuld be treated. Problem is bred does could abort when treated with Valbazon. Hope this helps.

If she has liver flukes you can just about figure the rest of the herd will to.Check with the vet but i think after a certin amount of time it is safe to use on bred does. First you have to get rid of the reason for the flukes....Stagnet water...Get the water out of the pens any ponds or water that just sits there is most likley the reason.Flukes will affect your deer as far as growing body and antlers..

Also the intermediate host for liver flukes is the snail. If you can't get rid of the stagnate water work on getting rid of the snails. Copper sulfate will kill snails and I'm sure there is a product made to kill snails also.
