I have a three month old buck fawn, momma fed. I noticed yesterday that his front legs splay out maybe three inches above the hooves, ankle area. Not too bad, but definitly noticeable.

any ideas on cause or remedy??

hasn't been that way since I got him, only noticed it three days ago. I'm in the pen 3-4 times a day or more...I'd of noticed it earlier if it had been there....

I have seen this before but can't remember where or wwhen or what caused it....a vague memory makes me think it had to do with vitamin deficincy ????? maybe Vit A???

what is the cervid equilivent form of rickets?

The fawn will eventually grow out of this condition. It needs a good diet as well as a good multi-vitamin (chewable flinstones) are one they really like.

thanks Scott, do you think I ought to give him the BoSe, B-12, Vit E????

he's eating MaxRack feed, I've got some Chaffhay on the way. I think the doe has weaned all three of them.
