Our grain supply place said they will no longer take checks. I have never bounced a check. They wanted money order, bank drafts etc. Ok I send my son in for a truck load of grain and he brings cash. Here is where it get totally stupid. They refuse cash and ask him to go get a money order. Have you ever heard of such a thing? This world is nuts.

It's getting worse,I'm one of those troglodites who still doesn't own a credit card or use interweb banking.I'm finding the same issues trying to use cheques with businesses I've delt with for many decades.

The look on some faces when you offer to pay cash is often one of confusion,as they dont seem to know what to do with it.

tell them to read the money where it says Legal Tender. If they wont accept it tell them they are breaking the law and you can sue them! ;-)

My son asked the people in charge why this was the new rule. The reason was the employees were stealing them blind either by pocketing the money or giving extra grain. In my world the employees would just be fired and my customer convience and loyality would come first. Like I said this world is nuts.

My goodness . Jack this world is really getting nuts . I'm in your world man , I would fire someone stealing something from me long before I'd make a customer jump through hoops . This is BS and I'd have me a talk with the mill owner asap or take my business elsewhere .

Scott my son said he is calling the owner tomorrow. One of the guys even asked if he was stupid as he was told a cashiers check or money order no one said cash. We will not be buying our grain there again and we buy $4k at a time. Scott did tell him to shut the freck up who did he think he was talking to. He would have called today but we were loading sheep which are going to Russia. Not a scam as I was paid six months ago for the animals for those who thought like I did when first asked if I would do this.
