Submitted comments and called on my friends of Facebook to do the same. After a somewhat bashing of the state government on the same post, I got zero likes! Everyone afraid to exercise their 1st Amendment rights!

As the cervid breeders of Missouri are fighting fire after fire with their Dept of Conservation, I cant help but read the DoC's propaganda talking about doubling fencing and ten foot high..... see Conservation's "talking point card" on the link... Looks a lot like Part A, Part B, and Appendix II of the Version 22 Standards... By the way, the Rule itself doesn't have that language..

Is this also a point as to show how any rule or standard does not hold alot of water if a state can make its own rules as they go? Like Ours!!

What you don't understand is that all these suggestions by USDA, whether enforceable or not, gives your state the political justification to do what they are doing to you right now.

Hopefully a win in Brakke's lawsuit, will straighten out attitudes in the government.

Trust me...Thats already been spoken about up here. One open minded judge not paid off or swayed by the DEC and DNR will change many things and right a bunch of wrongs. We will always have some kind of rules i believe just because we raise whats called a game animal and many cant grasp :Livestock: when it comes to whitetails!!!

The problem is on this forum we are preaching to the choir. We all know the talking points. Do we need some type disease control and accountability? Absolutely. But we have been promised that over time these regulations will decrease with increased knowledge and understanding of CWD. And now so many of our farms in CWD monitoring programs have over a dozen years of accreditation status, we are looking for some type of incentives or reform. Instead, we are having to fight for our lives with suggested ideas from the USDA of double ten foot fencing in these standards!

We all know the talking points, we can tangibly see the Program standards go above and beyond the intent of the rule, we can tangibly see wildlife agencies in battle states use propoganda using the exact suggestions from the Standards.

If the government wants 10 foot double fencing, let them do it, let them pay for it and maintain it. After all it's their diseased wildlife that is a threat to our captive animals. Just say no to all this government abuse.

Breeders in TN said no, over two decades ago, to government abuse. Since then, there have been no permits required and no fence height regulations to deal with. In TN, we are treated similar to cattle farmers but you have to be willing to stand up and fight for your rights instead of giving your money to some organization and hope they defend your rights.

I'm hoping someone comes up with a vaccine for CWD and we get our chance to vaccinate and protect our animals and the wildlife agencies do not. Then lets see the tables turn in a quick hurry. There has to be something to turn things in our favor being we're chicken to take things to court and make them prove legally they are right and we are not. We seem to like being kicked in the teeth much more than the cattle or other livestock industries . How come ??

Someone has to organize the fight Autry......that's why we have organizations that we work through!!!

Evidently that hasn't worked too well for most breeders. No one seems to be satisfied with where the industry is. Organizations are a good idea but they can only do so much. Until people in this industry decide to stand up and say NO MORE, you won't see much of a change.

You may already be aware of this Wooden, but the Candians have been doing research on a vaccine for years. Their data was presented at this past Nadefa meeting. And it's strong! I spoke with one of the presenters and they are very confident in several delivery methods of the vaccine, as well as the vaccines efficacy in numerous models.

There was an issue with funding that they recently lost, but this is without a doubt our best bet for a vaccine moving forward.

I will do some follow up and see where they are with their progress.

Obviously, if they do create a viable vaccine, it will be the DNR's that will be SOL trying to get the herds vaccinated. With deer farmers controlled environments, we should have the safest animals on the planet.

Yep people need to take a stand I agree...but they will need to work through an organization none the less!
