I have a buck fawn that is 9 days old was doing fine but I been noticing for a few days he has no balance no strenght I see him suck on the dam, his belly seems to be bloated, he tries to run and just go sideways are wobble around like he has no balance at all.

I tried bose, vitiman B complex, nuflor and dexamethasone yesturday, how long should it take for it to kick in?

When I left for work this morning I watched him suck on mom but dont know for sure if he was getting any milk, when I got home from work he is under my water trough just layed out like he has no energy at all.

does anyone know what this can be? and what would you try for this.

would try to bottle feed him and see if he acts hungry he might not be getting much from mom had a doe a couple yrs ago that this happened to after the fawn died i was able to get close and noticed she didnt have much of a bag nothing like the rest of my does had just a thought he might be sucking but is he getting enough

We had a similar experience with a 3 week old buck fawn. He was one of twin bucks she had and she obviously could not supply enough milk for both. He became very lethargic and finally would not even try to suck. We pulled him and ended up tube feeding him for 4 days but he still had no energy and was still dehydrated so we took him to the Vet and they kept him on IV's for 3 days and got him sucking the bottle. He is now home and doing great. Thank goodness we have great deer Vets.
