How many TX farms have been affected?

I guess my opinion is I think I should be able to do business in my country and people who don't support that can be considered greedy. Why else would they want their border closed? I would like to ask this question of all you fair minded folks here, what is worse, poaching or driving drunk. How many of you have poached and how many have driven drunk. How bout we just ban everyone from owning deer that has ever driven intoxicated, stolen anything, lied, cheated, cussed, have committed any felony or high misdemeanor whether you we caught or not. Oh really, so none of you could be in the deer business? Maybe you should all put the rocks you throw back on the ground. Now as far as the Texas breeder that can't get your deer, you should be reimbursed or wait until the restrictions are lifted. The person could well be totally innocent of any knowledge he was even in this position. TPWD wants to shut down all deer farmers and this is the way they will try.

Tim I agree with you. I think we should be able to do biz across state lines as well, and certainly it is because of some very wealthy folks that we can't. However we can't (yea it sucks:mad:), but we do still have to play by the rules even though we don't care for them.

I have spoke with the fella that has my deer, and he has assured me that he did not know anything was wrong with the deer he purchased. In fact he was presented with documentation (DNA Solutions papers) showing that the deer in question were in fact born here in TX...turns out the paper work was "fixed" but how was he to know that.

I certainly didn't start this thread to upset anyone or stir up any mess, I simply wanted to find out how many farms in TX were affected by the issue.

Tim I ain't putting my rocks down...I need them for self defense;)

I was not bothered by what you said at all. You ask very legitimate questions and thats why I addressed you directly on your problem. I agree with not breaking the existing law but threw out a reason that a rational person would use to do so. I understand keeping those rocks. I figured the guy was innocent that had your deer and if I were you I would work with him as much as possible. When they release his farm there will be no ramifications to you later on. Otherwise I was really answering the person who thinks NADeFA should be the morality police and my point was he or she has probably driven while intoxicated (which in my opinion is far worse and more dangerous to society than poaching which he or she has probably done at some point as well. It seems to me our whole country has lost their sense of fairness and direction. Also I will be supporting Rick Perry!!!! Daily prayer vigil. Lord let it cool off, let it rain and keep Biden in China and Obama in Martha's Vineyard until January 2012. Then let them come back to get their crap and leave DC.

Im just a dumb dutchman from PA but It doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out the direction of this country since obama took over!!!! so texas Rick Perry is my choice with tim condit as vice!!! LOL No seriously Perry is my guy!!! and as far as fairness in this country goes your dead on tim !!

we need to realize were all human and we all make mistakes!! so why not keep these guys honest and open the dam border!!!! It seems to be wide open for all the illegals so why not deer!!! Just a dumb dutchmans thoughts!!!

Scott,

You are dumb!!! Don't you know deer don't vote Democrat. If they did they would give us a wink and nod and then amnesty if we got caught. You really aren't dumb except the part about me for VP. Don't you know I would have to be Prez and I might let Perry be VP. It would be a complete switch. All borders open to deer and closed to illegals. Think about this for a minute. How many families do you know being killed by poachers. How many people are killed by drunk drivers? Its three strikes on drinking and driving and one for poaching. I guess I am just a dumb eastern Oklahoma Redneck but I just don't get it. Except the person in question owns deer. Hmmm Think there is something to that.

Tim Condict,

I certainly appreciate your point of view. If you want to look at it from a biblical point of view, no sin is different than any other in the eyes of the Lord. I believe that, and thank you for reminding me. I don’t want this post to take on a political spin. Where is the line drawn for NADEFA or TDA? It is a good point, how do you police people that are members of your organization? You can’t, so I suppose that makes my point invalid. I pose this question, then and ask for a response. Thank you for your earlier response. You should not make accusations about a person unless you know them personally, stating that your sure I have driven while intoxicated is not true. I would certainly appreciate if you did not do that as those kinds of accusations can damage a person’s reputation.

I knew you hadn't done any wrong cause you are JOHNNY B GOOD. Sorry I couldn't help it. I didn't say which crime you had committed but I just said everyone has. If you haven't, then you are the second coming and I certainly don't want you mad then. Hope you take the Johnny B Good line as it was intended, to be funny. Here's the deal Johnny, I will admit on here that I have violated laws! Only yesterday I was doing 48 in a 45 mile an hour speed zone!! What is more dangerous to the public, speeding or poaching. Another question, how many accidents have been caused and killed or injured people from the mismanagement of deer in Kansas. Maybe everyone should just get my point, which is, worry about keeping your own closet clean.

Tim,

No offense with the Johnny B Good name. So goes the saying, if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say it at all. I could have just as easily left out my comment. I also know people who have delt with these kinds of things first hand. Reputation in the whitetail industry is almost everything. Everyone has a list of people in their head whom they will deal with. I suppose that is the best place for that list. Thanks for being polite in your comments.
