HSUS

I just returned home from a townhall meeting where I listened to two State Representatives Joe Aul and Bill Stouffer regarding Missouri animal-agriculture lifestyle and the future plans of HSUS. (in Missouri) they are mounting a new ballot initiative...the focus for us all (no matter what state you might reside in) is to educate your neighbors, co-workers, etc. If HSUS has not had an impact in your state, you still are not safe. They have numbers, huge budgets, and they are on their way to change the lives of everyone who eats meat, buys animals as pets, and especially those (you and me) who raise animals for their own consumption and/or sale to help sustain their families. It is ridiculous when you hear these vegans, as they recite their mission statement, however misleading, as they sway the minds of particularly urban people. As they are listed with the IRS as a 501(c)3, they are a non-profit group and currently have many confused as to whether they are affiliated with the American Humane Society. The data is public-HSUS spends less than 1% in actually aiding animals who need help, and the rest is allocated for building their case, recruiting more members, and pulling the wool over...if they are in your state or when they arrive, let them know they are not welcome. The key is to educate our friends, neighbors, etc. It has been said that it takes about 3 generations to lose a particular value. How many do you know that might live in suburb who's great-grandfather had a couple of milk cows, but voted in the last election to put his kind out of business? It is happening everywhere, and if you don't educate everyone you know before the next election, HSUS will score a point, and for your business, that might be all they need. Genisis 1:28 tells us that we (man) God gives to man authority over all that was created on earth. It can't be more clear than that.

You know, that is one of the motivations for our TV show. We want to educate people about what we do and show them that this is a way of life for us. We want to show the many facets of deerfarming - not only the hunting end of it.
