Hunting Preserve Photos 2010

Beautiful bucks scott, i would use anyone of those to breed some does, what a great look you have in the preserve. Question, Are those native turkey or stocked ones, if they are stocked do the turkeys naturally stay in the preserve or do you clip a little of the wings so they cant fly out?

The above photos are not native or stocked turkeys they are Apple Creeks Guides. No we don't clip their wings they stay close to hunter and always deliver a buck bigger than plan. They mainly forage on David and Sylvia Yorder home cooking at the lodge.

LOL, I was actually commenting on a photo from the last page in which there is a photo of a couple turkeys, but that is a good one.

We have them too - the hunters really like seeing them.

Would post pictures of our guides but if you've ever met us you've seen them - Gary, his brother Jim and Randy - sometimes Kevin. Everyone says they look alike and has a hard time telling them apart! Makes for fun and a few good "brotherly" jabs now and then.

The reason I ask about wing clipping turkeys is because some preserves have turkey hunts and i know that you would have to stock your own, i figure if you dont clip the wings they'll just fly out of the preserve.

We do not stock turkeys they are very populated in our 1500 acre ranch. Low cyote problem so they feel safe. Our hunters send in for tags for 6 week spring season. This is our gift for whitetail hunting during our season Aug 15-Jan 30. Forgive my humor I just needed a chuckle after week of sorting cutting antlers, and watching our guides come back with some amazing bucks and happy hunters.

Isaac...Are you going into photography when you get out of school? If not, you should seriously consider it! Those pictures of eagles are better than I've witnessed in person in Ontario while pulling in walleyes....

That is an amazing camera, sure would like to have one like that, I guess it is not the stock lens either, hahahaha. I am amazed at the quality of that camera setup.

These photos where taken by my Fathers partner in Apple Creek Art, John Eriksson.

John has also taken his photos to 10 magazine covers this year. This is a perfect way to show the beauty in our hunting preserve.

Hey Isaac,

I admire you for your honesty. You are a true gentlman......you could have taken full credit for the pictures above and no one would have known the difference (well ok I would have cause i visited there) but you know what I mean. I wish you were not ill when we were there for our visit. would have been nice to have gotten to know you better. This all being said though....you take awesome pictures too! Do me a favor Isaac....next time your Dad gets a vehicle stuck in the preserve (which should'nt be long) get us some good pictures.....LOL.......sorry Scott just can't let it go.....I am still itching from the mosquito bites I got from that day......
