From what I'm seeing and given the limited breeding I believe he is. What's his oldest son? Is it F3? Are his daughters producing? Lets hear some proof--------
I'll give you one... ICON is out of a Sunny Jr. doe We currently have three Sunny Jr. does in our breeding program and we will be breeding to Sunny Jr. this fall. One only needs to look around the Xtreme boys farm to see the influence of Sunny Jr. They have some monsters running around there.
Hey Icon looks great! Just one question: Is Rusty feeding him cactus, cause he didn't have all them STICKERS last year? Thanks Michael. Come on I know that s not all there is out there! "Post up guys "
I'm not sure what he is feeding him. But I hope he doesn't stop anytime soon...lol I asked Rusty what he did to our nice typical that we had last year and his response was " I just feed him, He just grows it". Gotta love his honesty.
If he is anything like BW sunny he is a producer...From what i have seen BW sunny, for the amount he was used is one of the best producers i have seen ... His sons all have very nice frames with their high score...
I visited the Extreme boys and they had a few monsters out of Sunny Jr. Nathan had some also.Rusty also had some as well all three farms had many breeder quality bucks. To many to look at and keep track of pedigrees, but they are all doing things right.
Is Sunny Jr six years old this year, I can't remember? I have a straw to use this year but I'm trying to get an idea of his direct sons off the immediate Xtreme farm and JRV farms. What do y'all think I should do: I have a Goliath /Mary doe that's an 02 model. I currently have a single BW Sunny Buck fawn from her this year. A Buck and doe from Sundowner and her last year, so my question is since no BW Sunny daughter would you try again? Or Would you use Sunny Jr on her? This as you know would double the Goliath! Thoughts please
These are Sunny Jr. sons. They are all two years old. The first pic is FX he is a Sunny Jr./Dinomite son. Second pic is Perfect 10. Sunny Jr./Amos's full sister Third pic is Franchise. He is a Maxbo Select/Sunny Jr. son. Forth pic is Double Dean. He is a Sunny Jr./ double Sundance son.
Jason, I believe that Sunny Jr. will work very well for you. I posted the pictures for the Xtreme Boys and I hope that I got the right name to the right pictures. Give them a call if you have any questions.
Its strangely ironic that I called Brian this evening before I had seen any of these pics. We talked at length about how he has been pretty much put on the back burner until of late. I guess when you have four 300"+ sires on the farm, you'll probably breed with what s hot or what looks good on paper. But those two year olds are awesome! SUNNY JR
Give a day or two and I'll post a 3 year old Troy Gann has out of Sunny Jr. and Maxbo Hardcore's full sister. He is looking REAL good, just have to finish some other stuff up for Nathan Blosser and Troy before I can get to posting them.
I have a two year old out of a Sunny Jr. / Titanic doe that I got from Bryan and Phil that is going to push 250", so maybe his does are good producers too? The buck has really long tines and is pretty cool looking, big frame. I'll see if I can get pics. The best thing about Sunny Jr. is that not everybody has it. It would be a good outcross for alot of guys that have doubled and tripled up on Waldvogel stuff
I have a Sunny Jr. 2 year old named Sterling that will score around 260+ this year, he is out of a Drifter doe on the bottom. I will post pics of him soon. Icon looks super.
