I also heard that he was dead. I sure hope not. We have lost slot of great deer this year already. 2009 is the worst year that I've seen as far as big deer dying.. I hope this is bs though

Yes i heard that he did get shot and the last i knew they had him down with drain tubes in him.The bullet passed through and hit no ribs!!just hope for no infection!!We wish him the best of luck!! What a deer he is!!
I've got a lot of questions running around in my head.... (lots of room to move) could we get some ... truth.... from the horses mouth rather than conjecture?

If it's true that someone shot him with a 22 I hope they catch him and beat the living $@?! Out of them. That is bs!!! Not only is he a great deer, he is also a animal that they have alot of time and money invested in. I truly hope the best for king kong and the walk's. Good luck and god bless

Has to make you wonder what the heck is wrong with people anyway - why would you shoot a deer with a .22???? Only by some freak accident can that be explained - geez!
There have been more people killed w/ a .22 in non-combat than any other firearm. In the hands of a professional poacher it is plenty of medicine. One of my best friends was killed in a hunting accident when I was 12 years old. He was 16. Normally I would've been along with the boys on this rabbit hunt but wasn't. I hope they catch the scum that shot this deer.
The details of what happened are unreal,I want Russ Jr. to tell the story because I dont want to get any details wrong.I will say that if the person is caught he will be hung from the highest tree.. There is a 25,000 reward for info leading to arrest of the shooter.The penalty in PA is incredibly stiff for shooting livestock.

Recently in the news here in WI there is a story about 2 pukes that got drunk and went on a shooting rampage and shot someone cows and such. From a separate story that occurred here in WI it was looked up and apparently the worst penalty is vandalism charges. Of course that is crap and I know that there has been some talk about pushing for some stiffer penalties for this here in WI. So I am curious what other states have.
Note: Here at my place I have a penalty structure of my own for vandals, trespassers, and thieves

Go ahead and try and find the bodies, I dare yaThe problem is that even if they are caught (And I hope they are) but they are going to get a slap on the wrist and the worse case senerio you can sue them for the damage. All that means when its done is they have a judgement against them. Do you think you will ever see any money for what they took from you, NO. Im going through something similar to this where I sold something, I listened to the guys sob story and figured ok make payments i will work with you. Well here we are a year and a half later have not recieved one payment. I had to take him to court. He never even showed up at court (whick took me another 95.00 for court cost) and hurray I got a judgement against him.

I thought that at least in WI our deer are considered personal property. I believe it is a felony to do damage to personal property.

I had two yearling bucks killed about 8years ago there was two minors and one adult that did the shooting then they cut a hole in the fence and drug the deer through the woods about 3/4 of a mile.
It was easy to follow the trail since it had snowed about 4" the night before.
Each of them had 17 total charges from trespassing, hunting without a licence, hunting out of season, he even charged them for deer hunting with a .22 which is not legal in Mo. damage to personal property and the list goes on and on the game warden hit them up with every charge he could think of. and with 17 charges this is all they got
The two minors got a slap on the wrist and the adult got a year in jail but was out in 8 months.
The judge made the two minors pay for the cost of what I paid for the two bucks but that did not include what it cost me to feed them for the year or for the damage to the fence. The parents of the two minors did pay $50 a month until it was payed back.

Some ***** killed my neighbors calf 2 years back, and he got a year in jail. Pa rules should apply for this also.

Sometimes your better off keeping the law out of it. The way I see it is a few broken knee caps is worth more satisfaction than a few months of free room and board! I used to have a huge trespassing problem. I called the Police and the Game Wardens. All that ever came out of it was a slap on the wrist. When I call the police now all I say is he must of fell out of the tree. The trespassing has slowed a bunch.

Back when RDM Goliath was stolen there was $100,000 reward and yet no one came out with any information. Harry,Russ and Andy are the ones who found the deer at a local farm 30 miles away.I guess those people are pretty tight...the crooks.Good luck trying to get them to tell on each other.I think Predator3should be judge/jury/exacutioner!!!
