We had the privilege of taking our 11 year old grand daughter out hunting and she shot a nice fork mule deer buck at 200 yards right in the heart. It was great watching her get excited last week. The animals meat tastes great as it was a yearling.
Today we took our 12 year old grand son out who shot a nice 23 inch wide 5x5 mule deer at 300 yards right in the heart. My grandson Steve kills most of the gophers and fox on our place and is a great shot. He loves goose hunting and duck hunting and will clean and cook up what he kills. I'm very proud of him and his ability to hunt well. That size mule deer is a good animal for him from the wild.
Bad news is when his deer fell off the side of the mountain the front fork was broke off and was not found but I'm sure I can find a match for it from my deer.
We have taken him on hunts on hunting facilities and he has taken a fine mouflon ram when only eight years old. He also shot that ram in the heart at 139 yards. Of course he does kill all the deer we want harvested here on our ranch.
No picture yet but when we get them we will share. Well here is a picture. The buck broke off his right front tine about 4 inch's and one brow tine.
