Since when do bureaucrats override the right for commerce and property rights in this country? Lost in the house by one vote.

It lost in house by one vote. Jefferson County Rep switched his vote last minute!

So sorry to hear this bad news .  I know how hard you guys and gals worked to get this done.  Sad this is the way our government works graft and pay off's, you help me and I'll owe you one.  Well farm people know who not to vote for next time.

We gave it a good run, thank you for the support. I spoke with all the members we emailed, and they made an impact on a few of them. We definately had more on our side than against us, I just wish we could have pulled one more over. There was a lot of them on the fence. Again, thanks for all the support.

I just don't get it ?

The Missouri Court system said................When dogs attacked Donald Hills Farm..................Deer are "Livestock"

Missouri Ag says "Fenced" Deer are..........."Livestock"

Now the FSA are making Millions in EHD loss Payments to Deer Farmers..........For "Livestock" Losses!

WTF...................

I agree Wayne, this is total idiocracy!!!! I listened to the house debate last night and there are so many fools that are just blind to the facts! The old saying "you just can't fix stupid" still holds true! Some may not like what i am going to say, hell...i dont like what i am going to say. But the truth is this industry is going to continue to bleed until there is nothing left. I sure hope you guys in MO can work a miracle there, otherwise the time is NOW for a federal lawsuit on the commerce clause. I share the frustration with you all!

The Missouri deer farmers should target the ones that voted against this in the upcoming elections.  They should be made to feel the pressure of the land owners.  Get the land owners on your side.  This is a property rights issue.

You are right Brett. All the guys in MO fought and lobbyed extremely hard! I will be the first to say I have great respect for all they have done and will do. I believe the big culprit is the MDC, they have way too much power, money and infuence on legislation. Unfortunately that is the way most of our government works!

When you get a republican governor use all your resources to repeal the law that gives the MDC their gravy train.

I hate to say but my representative whom I emailed about staying with her YES vote Kathy Swan was one that changed her vote to NO. I have just emailed her my feelings on her switch. Also Rep Kelly had a plan all along and  to defeat this. The Rep from Jefferson Co, Roorda, had a yes vote punched in yet he voted NO the first time back in May. The voting session was left opening for longer than usual for a vote. Another who switched was Rep Zerr from St. Charles CO who had voted Yes the first time seeing that there would be enough votes changed to a NO and when the Speaker closed the voting.....ROORDA flipped his switch back last second....which he had planned all along. BUT if my Rep would of stayed with a Yes and Zerr then it would of been overridden. The games people play. Everyone check the Mo Ethics committee and be watching for who donates to these people. It will not show up till around Oct. 15 and if they accept money late then it wont show up till Nov 15.

I heard the the emotions in that room after the count was gut wrenching of those that did not vote as they thought they had the votes. They did not want to go against the governor if they did not have to vote...that is not government for the people!!!

Also  someone noted when Roorda flipped his switch from yes to no that he laughed about it. Laughed!!! Sad day for Missouri government.

Yep thats exactly how it happened. There was a ton of emotion after the vote close and we realized we were one short and for the way it happened. It was my first time at the capitol and I didnt no what to expect but now I am even more ashamed at our government and the way our laws are made. Its all about $$$$$ and nothing more very sad.

i would suggest it is all about the vote.  Kick their a$$ out of office.  You have an election coming up soon.  Target the ones who voted no and support the ones who voted yes.  It is passed time the people in this country wake up.

This just confirms the state of our country right now, a clear over reach by gov't and an agency who has absolutely no purpose running the private cervid farming industry. They can see the wildlife quality and populations crashing all the way around them and see more and more people wanting to manage their own deer on their OWN PROPERTY THE WAY WE SEE FIT. I don't know one private landowner in the country who would choose having the DNR people manage the deer on their property rather then be able to have the choice to do it themselves. Anything privately run is run better then any gov't agency can do working Monday-Friday, 8-5. These people get paid to breed voter numbers and the sad facts are we are outnumbered by liberals. One day sooner then we think, they will be coming to take the food we as farmers and ranchers raise because the "poor" people don't have enough to eat. Look at what the "feed the hungry" program has done to the countries deer populations. They preached shooting antlerless deer and get a free voucher that pays for processing if you donate it to the hungry. Somehow they think the few deer left would be some how better deer. Now most all the states numbers are going backwards on populations and they can't figure out why. It has to be the handful of CWD deer found on deer farms. Unbelievable

The owners of Bass pro and Drury inn were actively against us as well I would ask that no deer farmer ever patronize either of these place ever again and spread the word.

Thought this was fitting:
