I have a nice semi-wild buck on my property that looks like he has hoof rot. I've known him for many months and he is fairly comfortable around me and will get within 8-10 feet at times when I toss him horse treats. He has a bad right front foot that looks like hoof rot from my internet searches. He seems in good shape other than the foot. Is there any clear course of action I can take (short of shooting him) to help him out. Getting injectable antibiotics into him is outside what I can do but I could give him oral antibiotics two-three times a day.

I have bored a hole in his horse biscuit and put in 500mg of Cephalexin followed by a drop of molasses and packed with ground biscuit. This has worked several times but he is wise to the treated biscuits and won't eat them. Is it possible he would be more accepting of the Draxxin? He is now favoring his foot just a little bit less but it still looks swollen and tender.
