My does are starting to breed but they are 20 days earlier than I spected, and I`m having problems.

IA fawns are fine, no problem with them, but ET fawns born with their eyes closed, very thin and weak, they can't stand.

I took them to bottle fed but they don't eat. I use a nasogastric tube to fed them but they die before a few hours.

They all have the same age because we IA donors the same date that simple IA.

What can I do?

Need to clarify a few things first.. IA=What  ET=What?  Not sure on the Donors thing either. Sounds like stress of some kind may be making them fawn early? Anything different in your feed program lately? 20 days is somewhat early but i would think the eyes would be open?

wrong order of letters. AI artificial Insemination. ET: embrio transfer.

Nothing different in feed program, and no stress, they haven't being moved since february.

I always have some does that give birth early but i've never had fawns with closed eyes and that weak.

Maybe is an abortion and Im thinking its an early birth

One of my does fawned 25 days early. I counted from day I saw her being bred to birth, 175 days. Had twins, normal looking, pretty  normal size, but got weaker throughout the day, didn't respond to anything like Vit. B complex, dextrose, corn syrup etc. Buck fawn died same evening, took doe fawn to vet next morning, he showed me how to tube feed, turned out she could hold only about 10 cc in her stomach. She died a few hours later too. They looked perfectly normal though being a few weeks early.

I did notice that their mom was not nearby whenever I looked out. Both fawns were all day laying together in same location. She apparently had let them nurse after birth (they were fine and alert, warm in the morning when I found them) but after that it seems she did not attend to them anymore. Sad and strange. No stress etc. here either.

Sorry for your loss!!

Had a live cover doe drop twin buck fawns 15 days early. both were as your descried, only thing was eye were shut as well. Found them in the morning and the first one died that night, saved the second one and he is still doing well.  Took two days for his eyes to open and tube feeding him is what saved his life.

Sorry for your losses.

The Vet that is in charge of the reproduction program told me that for him is more like an abortion than an early birth.

thank you for sharing. I hope that from now on everything goes fine in your pens.
