Guys I'm looking for the food supplement to stop the bucks from fighting. I think I saw something about that on here. We didn't get our antlers cut this year.
Thanks. Jack

PBS animal Health has a pellet you add to the feed called peacemaker. Or the depo-provero which makes antlers drop. If given to early in the fall I have heard of the antlers growing back to early

I ordered Peacemaker from PBS Animal Health 2 days ago. I am wondering if it begins helping immediately, or if it takes time.

Magnesium Oxide ( MAG OX ) is what I put in the feed

Has anyone used the shot that makes their antlers fall off In say Oct does it affect them the following year and or do new antlers start earlier? JIM

I use 2cc of Medroxyprogesterone.

They will calm down in a couple days and shed antlers in a couple weeks. I've never had any side effects, and the antler growth starts back when it should.

Do not give your bucks a shot that you intend to breed with! I have a friend down in Alabama that has used Medroxyprogesterone several times with really good luck, and no side effects the following year as Todd mentioned.

Jack and Alouko,
Are you guys using the Peacemaker supplement yet? If so how do you think it's working?? Thanks Scott

No I didn't use it. Went with what Simonson said he used which was magnesium oxide in the feed and things seem to be going ok no losses.

No Ryan we just bought Mag Oxide from our feed store. We added Vit E also.
I can't really see why this would calm the bucks down myself. But time will tell. I just needed something because we didn't cut antlers off in mid August like we usually do.
