Actually this loss was a good one! He was sold today. He is asleep in the picture. I got a text from the buyer an hour after he left, he said my buck was in his pen and doing well.
Oh,that was wicked!! He sure looked dead. Well, great, just made a fool out of myself, but good for you. Congratulations on the sale.

I am pretty much done with deer breeding. I will have just a few around to enjoy. I got tired of waiting for the days when things would turn around, instead it continues to hover at the point where it cost as much to feed an animal as you get paid for it when it sales. I am married now, and I wont let my struggling farm be a burden to our finances.

Matt, Hate to see you go. But I do understand how many years have we all heard....... "folks keep getting out and the ones that stay in will reap the rewards"????
While some still "paint a rosie picture"...................It's never going to be like it was!
EHD,CWD,Poor A/I, the doe or buck you did get from A/I ............Breaks it's neck or dies of pneumonia on and on the list seems to be endless!
Raising Stockers is all that's left...........For now I'm Ok with doing just that............But the list of Folks who are gone from this Business is even longer!
Matt, Enjoy your deer you have left and your Family....................That will be an even BIGGER reward in your life than worrying about Deer!!
