I have a yearling buck i noticed today .that seems to have a cough and a little bit drool/foam hanging from his mouth. he seems tobe moving a little slow with a little bit of a hunched back. otherwise he looks very healthy. He is not really interacting with any of the other bucks in his pen. what do u guys think he is dealing with and what would u medicate him with? Thanks a bunch

Good chance your dealing with ehd give these drugs ASAP !!!!

3-4 cc draxxin

3-6 cc deximethisone

If 3 cc darts is all you have give 3cc of draxxin and 3cc of dex. The ASAP is most important !

Sounds exactly like EHD, Kurt is exactly right with the Dex and draxxin. If you can get it in them as soon as they show ANY signs, you can save them. I gave these 2 things to the last 9 deer that I had get it and all but one lived and a couple snapped out of it within a couple days, I really think the Dex is the most important and if they are a lil wild where you can only get one dart in at a time, I'd hit them with the dex first. It won't hurt to hit them again in a day or 2 for about a week or so. Chances are, if you can get them through the first 3-4 days you may have it beat. I started fogging with the ulv fogger and stopped it completely, no midge, no more ehd. Good luck

Chris35 , I would be surprised if it's EHD , I believe you live near Greg Eagle Minnesota .

If you are I live 75 miles north of you and we have had several killing frost mornings ... I would look closer into it being pneumonia. just my 2 cents .

Yeah, i am in grey eagle, mn. we had a pretty good frost last tuesday. i gave 3 cc of nuflor, thoughts?

Even though you may have had killing frost with those symptoms I would treat as EHD for sure. I have had several this year do the exact same thing. If he were my buck I would get Dex and Draxxin in him asap.
