Max rax has to several kinds of deer feed some for supplement feed (blue bag) and some for deer breeders ( red bag) and some with different levels of protein so you have to look at what your getting

I have my feed made then have it put in a pellet so it last long on the shelf and every bite is the same in the pen

I usually don't reply much on these forums. I own a feed company, Performance Feeds LLC and have studied deer rations for 20 years. Working for the largest and smallest of feed companys have learned alot. Mass Nutrition is right on least cost formulations with large retailers my years of samples have proved it. It is best to stay with a reputible company that will lock your formula on what works best. There are lots of good feed out there and price has not always been the best indicator of quality. I prefer to test it.

Circle I is correct and anyone thats serious about quality health and nutrition should have their feed tested at least twice a year by an independent lab. I use Midwest labs in Neb as they are top end on testing human and animal grade foods. I have watched levels of quality ingredients drop off alot in the past 2.5 years. If you have a high end or good quality product thats fixed the manufacturer should never be woried about finding out you test their product. I was at a show a couple momnths ago and their was a sales rep from Cargill ther boasting about how they do extensive research and have the best quality product available. I just so happened to have in my booth a recient lab test of two of their products and were on display next to our product to show customers the difference. People went back and asked the cargill guy why he did not have results other than a bag lable and could not answer basic questions like What is TDN rate or ADF rate or you said yopur feed had 20% protein and his lab test showed 16,9% etc...I have found out that those two words will scare alot of mom and pop feed producers as well as the checkerboard companies. But yes lab test your feeds twice a year at least.
