Pnue Dart

Hey Mitch. I use 3/4in needles in the spring/summer and 1in needles in the fall/winter. Yeah I don't know. I just kinda thought since they made the needles thicker, hence cutting down on the inside diameter of the needle, that maybe it was enough to restrict the flow out. For instance: 2cc used to knock down any 3 yr old buck I had on the property, and it still does some of them, but not enough of them to not use 3cc now. Wish they made a 2 1/2cc dart! And 1 1/2 cc used to take care of my adult does, but now I have to use 2cc. And like I mentioned, I thought that maybe the meds were gettin watered down, but if no one else is having the problems I'm having, then for whatever unknown reason, its just me, but it is a noticable difference none the less. Thanks Mitch.

I have too noticed a negative difference on their darts lately, but I haven't had the problem of the dart going off. My problem has been ''havin to use 1/2 to 1cc more on each deer to knock them down than I ever used too. And I believe the problem/difference is one of 2 things: 1- Either the inside diameter of the needle on the dart being decreased has ******** the flow/release of the tranque, or 2- the drug companys are watering down their drugs ie rompum and telazol. Anybody else notice this?

Are you using the tri-port needles? this will disperse the material more quickly then the single hole in the front.

Could the delivery system have anything to do with it. For instance, if you use a blowgun, does the velocity make them "go off" better or does using a gun make them more efficient? Maybe the blowgun doesn't give enough pressure on impact to make them inject as well? Would the rifle be better than the pistol since it may have more velocity? Would higher velocity make the needle bounce back faster?

There has to be a certain amount of force for the power to go off and the material injected into the deer but you can also use to much force causing damage to your great animal. Please refer to you chart supplied with all Pneu-Dart projectors as your guide for pressure. Now with that being said there are occiassions in which a dart will not go off, maybe during transport of being bounced around in a gator or whatever the dart can discharge so keep then as safe as you can.
