Uncle ,you are right. 22 shorts will do the job and they are quite compared

to long rifle.Get rid of ***** as they carry lice.In 23 years we only had lice once and it was carried in by a **** I shot.

Heck I know more people with lice than I do ***** with it. FYI, animal lice and human lice are not the same lice. Just saying. As long as we are hating *****, theyre also a huge carrier of distemper as well. Damn those *****! ~wink

NYBill, I think Deer Whisperer was concerned about lice for the sake of the deer, not himself. LOL And I think that distemper is probably a product of disease, such as rabies.

Anyway, yes, ***** are NASTY, LaMont! So are vultures. Uncle has the right idea: Shoot, Shovel, and Shutup.

I love *****, I just cant eat a whole one by myself. ;) On a side note, my 4 yr old daughter has a pet possum that bellys up with the cats on the front porch. So if you are in central IL and see a grinner with a purple collar and a cat bell on it please dont shoot it LOL

Harley, dont you have some more girls due about now??

Hmmm, I guess I dont know! Cool, theyre 3 days (and 51 years) after me! Congrats on the twins...daughters, that is.

***** remind me of people on welfare. You give them a home, free food and fresh water. They tear up the home and pee and crap on what they don't eat or drink, just like crows. I have tons of ***** and have never had any mess with my fawns. One 30lb boar **** come out for a mid-day snack the other day and when I drove up he took off running for the exit. Problem was he was going to run right by a fawn from a doe I got from Kevin Grace. That doe ran over a killed him stone cold dead. After seeing Kevin after Cheryl had a hold of him a time or two, I figured that doe musta learned a couple tricks from her. I lost 15 fawns one year to the buzzards, and actually saw them get a couple. They eat them alive. Buzzards circle not looking but find their target from smell. They are attracted to the smell of afterbirth. I haven't ever killed one but there are provisions to allow it. Its usually the Mexican ones and not the turkey buzzards.

I have found a few Great Pyrenees for sale, if anyone is interested PM me and I'll pass the info to you. I'm seriously considering driving to IA to pick up a pair of pups next week.

I have never personally had issues with vultures, my pens are all wooded. However, I have a cousin that lives a mile away and raises cattle. Last year he discovered a whole group of vultures that attacked and killed a 2 day old calf. They ate it's eyes and rearend while it was alive. He had to finish off the calf. He did admit that part of the problem may have been his fault. He had shot a groundhog a day or two before and left it laying in the field...therefore attracting the vultures with the smell.

Either way, vultures, eagles, hawks will eat and kill fawns, calves etc. We should have the right to protect our herd from these things !!

Again, I sell netting that would stop any preditor bird from getting into your enclosures. They are nets cut to specific sizes and would need a ceter pole if the fawning area is very large. Nets can be put together to make larger nets or you can use a smaller enclosure for fawns until they get a little to bird for a preditor bird. Call me and lets talk.

I've had a bob cat kill my second fawn in three days. We have electric wire, have placed traps for the past months and just last night we had the second kill. Two Thunder fawns so far.

We have found them with the gut open and the cat has eaten the backstrips and kidneys. The fawns were half burried and left to spoil.

I feel sick....

I wish someone would post how to mix the Golden Malrin for use on *****, etc.... I have never used it but just bought some and Im just waiting on a proven method for use that someone would share. Seems like I read on here somewhere that you mix it with coke?pepsi ??? How much of each ? Where are the bait stations placed etc...Thanks in advance.

Either will be fine!!! Its not very expensive so i mix it strong.I just put it in like a baking pan or something that size and let them have at it.You can get some ground beef or such and put a pair of gloves on then mix a can of marlin with the beef and make some bit size meatballs.Just remember to be very careful with it....Deer,birds,pets will all fall victim to the mixture's!!!!

I agree with you . But a judge wont look at your book he has his own book to look at. This is not a subject that is of any good . you could get in trouble. talking about it on this forum.

his avatar says he is in mexico I doubt a judge will care about what he does in his country ;)

To reduce vulture predation you may also hang vulture effigies to dissuade them. Hanging decoys that look like a dead vulture will usually make them wary of an area. The best is some type of decoy that you can spray black and hang it upside down with the wings spread open or something that looks like wings.

You may also try to eliminate perching locations for these birds, but I know that usually doesnt't work too well.

If all else fails you can obtain a federal depredation permit which then authorizes you remove the problematic vultures through lethal means (ie: shooting) The best ways to remove vultures is either through shooting or by trapping (ie: pole trap or Swedish goshawk trap) It is illegal to trap or shoot these birds without the federal depredation permit, and some states require a state permit as well, but they can be fairly easy to get. The main thing if you chose to go the permit route is to try some form of non-lethal abatement first, otherwise you may be declined the permit.

Also important to remember is record when it happens and the estimated dollar amount for the animal you lost, those can help influence the decision on whether or not to approve the permits.

You can not get a permit to shoot eagles however.

May I respectfully suggest that a few of you check with federal law before offering some of these suggestions...remember that this is the www for all to read.
