A while back I made a post asking for some advice from anyone about a buck my friend in Illinois had who's scrotum was hanging down to and past his tarsal glands. Seems it would go up and down slightly but mostly hung pretty low. Nobody could help and wanted pictures to help diagnose his problem. I was going to get some pictures when I went out there. (Just this past week). Well, it seems the buck was just so darn mean and nasty (charging and attacking anyone who got near the fence) that my friends Dad decided to slaughter him for fear of him hurting someone. He said he was mean like that ALL the time. Anyway we found out that along with his normal sized testicals, his scrotum was just full of fat. Yes fat. It reminded me of intestines cuz of the way it looked. Like a long strand as thick as your thumb all wrapped up and as big as a big grapefruit. (If you wadded it all up together) No wonder he was so grumpy! He ate and drank well and was real healthy and big with no other excessive amounts of fat on him. He ate what the rest of his herd ate and they are all fine with no problems. Don't have any idea what caused this, but that is what the problem was with him. If he wasn't so mean he would have left him alone but I guess I'd be a little moody too if I had his problem.. Anyway, that is what was wrong.

I doubt that it was fat ...more than likely, the way you describe it, it was varicose veins.

GREAT BALLS OF FIRE!!!! Never heard of that in deer before but saw it one time in a horse , he wasnt very happy either, did turn out to be vericose veins like Ikoff said...
