I certainly think I'm going to give the BAM a try after losing one of my best breeders last week ........

Dennis, I've been using the straight Medetomidine(Domitor) for eight years, usually in a 10mg/ml strength. I've sedated one buck over 35 times with it, three times in four days once. You cannot do that with any other drug that I personally know of without harming/killing the deer.

When one figures the cost of losing even one good deer to using any other drug then the cost is on BAMs side of the balance.

It comes with the instructions for Whitetails.

We've used our first kit and I'll tell you it works much faster than the Xylazine cocktail and they reverse much quicker as well. We're hooked!!

I'm aware what ZooPharm recommends for dosage. I'm curious though if anyone has consistently used a lower dose successfully?

So far, I've used the lowest side of the scale for all that we've used it on with good success. All have been bottle fed, except one, and it worked great on her as well. I hope this helps!!

I've used reduced dosages a couple dozen times, just to see how it worked. I have a lot of experience with the Domitor(Medetomidine, the M in BAM) and comparing mgs to mgs I figured I could use less. I sedated a 200# buck with 1cc of Bam, performed surgery on his belly for 1 hour and reversed. Perfect all the way around.

BAM is like any other sedation is that different deer react differently to it. On some deer you can use less than advised, also depending on just what you need to do and how tame the deer is, and others require the full dosage.
