sick doe....what is this>

Have a doe that was looking weak and losing weight. Darted her yesterday and gave her Penicillin C, Baytril, B-12, and ivermection.



I noticed something very unusual….I took the attached photo. Looks like she is defecating from the wrong spot??? Anyone have any ideas? should i do anything?

Is there a chance that this was a late-fawning doe? If so, it could be retained afterbirth, which would definitely make her not feel well. I also wonder if possibly there was a fetus that was never born that possibly has been inside her until now and you're seeing the remnants. I've seen it happen in other animals. Hope she regains her health...
 
she is a pure southern doe and had twins about 3 weeks ago. thansk for your input!

I observed something very similar recently with one of our doe. The doe is healthy and was the last to give birth on my farm...about 2 weeks ago. It subsequently disappeared. Because she is healthy and it disappeared we attributed it to afterbirth that simply wasn't expelled yet. We are watching closely but I think that is the most likely scenario.

Antler Valley is likely to be correct and the doe may have salpingitis (tubal infection) with retained placenta or during birth she may have had a fawns hoof tear into the rectum of the doe and now has a fistula connecting the rectum to the ******l floor. I would recomend a pelvic exam (sedated obviously) to feel for an abscess or connection. May want to consider consultiing a vet on this one.
