sick fawn

rehabber I know got a fawn today, maybe 15 pounds, male. It was found walking down the middle of the road. It seems disoriented. It has no injuries showing. It stands with front legs apart, usually head down. It has turned its head hard to it's left shoulder and held it there. Its head wobbles.


 


Suggestions as to what is wrong with it???

I don't think it is a vehicle hit, no fresh marks at all on him. He has one scab 1" long on his shoulder, but it looks to be a week old.


 


He seems to have some eyesight probs, no blind but not good eyesight either, he has probs finding the food bowl right under him.


 


I treated with IM Thiamine, and oral thiamine, is better but not well. But he is eating pellets and drinking water from a bowl, no bottle milk though.

have continued treating with IM Thiamine 500mg/ml dosed at 1 ml per day. Also Pen G first day.


 


fawn is very near cured, eating and drinking milk.
