Have the same thing on one of mine. Don't know if it's anything to be concerned about or not. I've seen much bigger wart looking things that got big enough to dangle, and didn't ever seem to hinder the health of the deer. Yeah i have the same lookin spot in about the same exact spot on the same age deer. I at this point do not suspect it is anything to worry about, but maybe someone out here knows.

We had a spot on the back of one of our does next late last fall. After this past winter it went away. I agree should not be cause for alarm.

As others have stated above, it is a wart and will eventually just fall off on it's own. You don't need to do anything.

If you received Deer Tracking (Spring issue), pg 22-we had a "warty buck" update that explained the fibroma virus. Some think it may be spread by mosquitoes, generally hits yearlings, fibromas fall off by end of season and generally the deer don't get them again. Unless it looks like it will cause blocked vision, or a secondary infection is noticed, experts recommend leaving them run their course. This topic has been covered as "Ask The Experts" in different issues of the magazine with different pictures and explanations.

Hope that helps

I've used athletes foot cream on them as well as ringworms . Active drug is Terbinafine Hydrochloride cream/ antifungal. I wouldn't dart her for it of course, but not bred and have a handler why not. I have also read where sawdust from black walnut trees is a natural antifungal remedy that can work on even on footrot issues! Not everybody's gonna have access to it. I brought mine back from Illinois. Don't start grinding up your upper grade rifle and shotgun stocks just yet, they sell something in that PBS animal health magazine . Jason DCW:D

No sure the spelling is right but i`m pretty sure what your seeing is what they call a Pappalomis !! Same as a wart !!! They will very in size. You can remove them but they may just return . I`ve left mine alone and normally by fall they start biting at them or the other deer do and they just fall off . No real danger just unstightly to look at !!
