I have a buck fawn I bottle feed (he was a runt) that acts as if he has stiff legs or joints, kind of limps. Nothing looks swollen. I put him in with 3 other fawns in a bigger pen (differant then what I was bottle feeding him in) middle of Sept. I don't see the others beating on him. He lays 10 feet away from the others. Eats and drinks fine. Same feed and hay. Any ideas would help.

Thank You...

i had something simular with a doe fawn this year an i sprinkled apple flavor asprin on her food and buy second dose she was up and running around the pen wiht the others. It happend right as cold weather hit us here but i followed the directions on bottle acourding to wieght.

DJ - stiffness/lameness like you describe can be a symptom of Blue Tounge or Joint Ill. Either way, I would treat with Gentamycin for 5-10 days to help prevent a secondary infection. They will recover just fine from this, as long as they don't get pneumonia or something else while their immune system is weakened and busy fighting the primary problem.

Hey Robbie! How was CR? I hope you had fun. Did you see the pics I sent to you? I have a diagnosis and it is flukes!
