Here is a 3 year old Romeo/Soaring Eagle named Roaming Eagle. He is 360 at 3. Had the matching drop and broke it off :) :) :)

Nice one, a couple slight side to side variations, but overall geogeous symmetry!! I REALLY like that buck....he would be a lifelong breeder if he were in my pens.

Lets not forget about my old buddy Doublejack. He is Timberjack over Doubledown. He was cut on July 18th and still scored 387 with a 27 inch inside spread. I'm sure he would have gone well into the 400 inch range if he could have grown out. :):):)

Thank you to everyone who purchased semen, doe fawns or bred does in 2012. We appreciate it!

Are you kidding me. All the semen i have bought and i dont win anything? LOL. Just my luck with drawings. There could be 2 names in a hat with one being mine...I would still not get the nod. Great bucks again this year sam!!

One of the winners Ive seen win more than once. I want that guy to buy me a lotto ticket!! Not only is he sometimes lucky, he is a great example of a good man, and fellow deerfarmer. Way to go Lance!!

Lance is lucky. I will expect him to donate a winning straw to something worthy! :):):)

With all the does Lance lost to EHd This year I'm glad to see his luck changing back to good. You won't find a better man in the deer business.

We usually cut all of our bucks but decided this year to leave the antlers on as many of the breeders as we could. The only breeder we cut was Cornerstone because he had so many horizontal flyers we thought he might catch them in the fence.

We used 7 breeders total. We used 2 3 year olds, 4 2 year olds and one yearling.

First the 3 year olds:

Power Sneakers (326 27 IS - Powerball over Sneakers):

Here is Roaming Eagle coming and going (365 28 IS broke the double drop - Romeo over Soaring Eagle):

Here are a couple of the 2 year old breeders:

First Extreme Roller (Extreme Sneakers over Rocky Roller over HighRoller (RolexBy10 and the Chosen One's Dam))

ER-HA-12.jpg

And here is Waylons Impact (270 27 IS - Maxbo Impact over Waylon and Waldos's Dam)

You know there is some part of cutting antlers that is slightly relieving, on the other hand, there is something worth keeping them on...... My goodness to big bucks like that give me a shot of adrenaline when seeing them in person! Being up close and personal with a giant 200-400" buck makes your stop and dream, if only just for a minute that your in the woods seeing his big ole head pop out from behind a thicket. If only one were so luck! Thanks for sharing Sam, they really look spectacular!

Thanks for all the kind words! I must say it is fun walking by each breeder pen and seeing a giant with his antlers on. It does send chills up your spine. It doesn't really matter how many times you see them.

Here are the other 2 - 2 year olds we picked as breeders:

Highway 727 261 23-4 IS (Maxbo 727 over Highway 10 over Y30 (Jeckyl/Bucky Jr./Poncho)

H727B-HA-12.jpg

H727-HA-12.jpg

And of course Cornerstone 314 (Maxbo 727 over Y30 (Jeckyl.Bucky Jr./Poncho)

Cut him due to all the "fence catchers"

Great great deer sam who would have thought we would have that kind of deer 25 years ago impressive congrrats jerry

A few years back I said I would never breed with a yearling again. Well I guess I have to eat those words. Brian and I put 5 does in a pen with this yearling "Flying Jack" He is 24-3/8 IS and scored 188. He is Timberjack over Waylon. Waylon does consistently produce width. :)

That concludes the list of all 7 breeders:

Yearling:

:)Flying Jack (5 does)

2 Year Olds:

:)Cornerstone (10 does)

:)Extreme Roller (10 does)

:)Waylons Impact (5 does)

:)Highway 727 (5 does)

3 Year Olds:

:)Roaming Eagle (10 does)

:)Power Sneakers (5 does)

We also A.I. bred about 28 does

Wow Sam, Awesome deer! You have a perfect lineup of variety, each buck is beautiful in a different way, I love that no two bucks ever grow the same rack, that is way whitetails are so special. and the spread on that yearling of yours.......Wow, that is just unreal!
