I apologize for my other two threads I am desperate for help right now I believe my 1 year old Buck has EHD or blue tongue. We are on day 2 and this morning his whole head and neck is swollen what can I start him with to stabilize him and what can I use to immediately attack arterial worms?? Thank you so much I did not know how to delete my other threads and I'm stressed I apologize please help desperate :(

I can handle him so I can use pretty much anything and I have some vet experience please advise??

I am actually a wildlife rescue volunteer. Just so everyone understands. On my way to vet & pick up Dax & some liquid strongid. Hope it helps. My vet wanted me to bring him in...but I don't have sedative :(
Thank you for all the info I was able to find!

I have used 2cc of Draxxin on day one and 3cc of compounded Dexamethazone on day 2. Then I went back to Draxxin on day 3 and the Dex again on day 4 with draxxin again on day 5. I stopped after that and the deer survived. I used the same on others and did not have any luck. Draxxin is good for I think 72 hours so I was overdosing but I figured I needed to try something. Good luck its a awful thing to deal with. My spelling may be incorrect on the meds, sorry.

Draxxina and Dexamethazone are what most people go with. These two meds are helping him deal with the effects of the virus. Ultimately, it is up to his immune system and overall health to fight it off. Some of these you win and some you don't, but don't be discouraged.

I have heard of some vets using high levels of Oxygen (sedated of course) on a respirator and having success. The oxygen in the blood slows/kills the virus.

Keep us updated.
