Venison Wanted NE MS.

Hello,



I am looking for a local or semi local farmer who has meat or whole deer for sale. However it doesn’t seem like there are any deer farms local to me that sell meat. I have been able to find a few whitetail farms but I am not looking to book a hunt.



I am located in Starkville MS and I am in search of a farmer who can provide me with venison. I am looking for 20+ of ground meat and possibly steaks at a time and would be willing to buy a whole deer at hanging provided the farm I am buying if from could have it processed and wrapped for a fee of course.



Not sure what the going rate is per pound but I am a fair and honest person and realize that you the farmers have to make a living etc. I am willing to pay the going rate with hopes of my buying in bulk and becoming a regular customer will warrant a better price down the road.



If you are someone who can supply with meat or know someone who can would you please reply to my post. I am perfectly willing to buy enough meat upfront to make it worthwhile if that is what is required.

The sale and purchase of WT deer meat in Mississippi is illegal, as it is in many states across the country. There are several "venison" suppliers in Mississippi but the meat will be either Red Deer or Fallow, which is legal to sell and very good.

Hey Scott, do you happen to know why it's illegal? Just to help prevent poaching out of season or what?
