Brett it is good to see you using more Texas genetics especially to help with EHD protection. As the breeder of Abilene I am glad you used him. You might check out my website to see what other Texas bucks are available. Thanks James Veitenheimer V-Tex Whitetails.com

My herd is Hardcore, Reno, Big Guy, PA Geronimo, Patrick, Marty Graw. Hope to be adding Texas Tea, and Xl.

Well i have a different twist on what I'm building my herd around. It usually doesn't matter about who the line is as much as the consistency in a particular quality. I'll give an example W-15

(Star) is bred like this:

Max DB/Shadow/Lonewood/BwSunny/Redoy Bert/BJ/Holly

There is more 15-17" TINES bred in this doe than any other I've seen .

Example: P-912 (Sweet-tater) is bred like this:

Ranger Xtreme/Dr. Hardcore/Reno/Doc/BJ/JB/Patrick 112

Ranger Xtreme has Maxbo Ranger,Max,Maxbo Xtreme's mother as anchor!!! This is over Maxbo Hardcore ,B-19(Blockbusters g-dam & Sipes Outrigger's mom also in his Satisfaction buck ........all wide deer! This is then over Reno then BJ and so on. This trait is WIDTH to the max.

I'll take these lines and cross them back and forth all the while hammering out proven crosses on the side. Breeding deer is addictive for me and trying to create awesome looking deer is what it's all about!!!!

James

I viewed the website. It is impressive. Ehd is a major concern for me that is why I returned to southern does. I know they will survive the ehd. I have never had a southern die from ehd. Now i am adding the texas and texas/northern crosses to them.

Hope to see you at the TDA convention in August.
