What to plant for a Food Plot

I said it in another thread, and I will say it again: thank you guys for how you handled this"disagreement". I think of situations like these in times when I need to exercise a little humility.

Crocket: What you said is not always easy. Kudos to you!

Henry: It says a lot about you that people stand up for you and your integrity. My friend Joe Rose would probably use this as a good example of Proverbs 27:2 in action.

I don't know you guys, but you are the kind of people that I like to know.

i have never meet henry , i dont think me and henry have a ( disagreement ) well i hope we dont , i was just trying to say how ( HENRY ) could have said as a lot of us ,,, hay white clover ( exp ) is best and i have some nice seed to ( offer ) you can call me and we could talk more, by no means does he have to do this ,im the bad guy here and im sorry, CROCKET

Is it good to leave your bucks in the pen with the clover and chicory after they shed or should you at some point put them in a pen without so they will eat more grains. At this point my breeder buck is wanting to eat mostly clover & chicory. This is the first year we have had it planted and just put him in the pen in January. He just shed yesterday, your thoughts on this PLEASE!!!!!!

I would let right where they are, In the clover!!!! It is what they need for there health and rumen! Of course have good feed for them also! Good Luck!!!

The clover and chicory along with rye grass works good for us the north but in the south we have had problems with the sandy soil along with dry conditions we see there.

how do they hold up to the foot ( hoof ) where/tear that deer seem to put on pens ???? some here just keep reseeding K31 cheep fescue and it takes a beating ,

We used the Clover and Chickory last year and just spread it in the enclosure along with the deer and it grew great as well as held up well. Even when at last summer when it got dry and brown, this stuff was still green
