Our Bucky passed away yesterday at the age of 14 1/2. Even though Bucky outlived everyones expectations and we knew this day could come anytime it was definately a sad day on the Flees farm.

Bucky was one of those rare bucks that will forever leave his mark on the whitetail industry. He was one of the first bucks to ever reach the 300"B&C mark when he did it in 2002. He would end up doing this 4 years in a row. With a 34+ inside spread, heavy mass, long beams and drop tines he was definately one of the prettiest big bucks to ever live.

Bucky will also go down as one of the greatest breeder bucks of all time. He started breeding for us in 1997 as a yearling and bred every year since. We are fortunate to have a ton of giant sons as well as great daughters from Bucky. Not only was Bucky an incredible producer for us. Bucky, thru semen has made an incredible impact in herds throughout the country. Every year people have been sending me photos of their huge Bucky sons and grandsons.

Bucky may be gone but he has definately left a legacy that will last forever.

Greg and the Flees family,

Sorry for the loss of Bucky. What a power house producer. Bucky can take claim to one of the greatest producer of bucks and producing daughters. Congratulations keeping him on the farm 14 years that is amazing by itself.

I had the pleasure of seeing Bucky several years ago. He is a legend in the deer industry. It is bucks like Bucky that make this industry so strong. A 14 year career for a breeder buck only attests to the professionalisim and care of the herd by the Flees family. Thanks for all you do in the industry and I too am sorry for your loss.

Greg, so sorry to hear that news. I was privileged to see him in person several times and always have thought that he was an industry icon. For a buck to live to his age indicates the high level of care he has received.

Greg,

I am sorry to hear the sad news......i am glad I got to visit this summer and see him in person....he looked as healthy as ever! He was an awesome buck in many ways......living to the age of 14 1/2 is just one of the amazing things he did. If there was a Hall Of Fame for the greatest bucks in our industry he surely would be there! Again, i am sorry for your loss!! Hang in there!

Truly one of the greatest bucks of all time Bucky has produced through sons, daughters and grand daughters. Just the latest of a long line of examples of this is Cardiac Kid who is out of a grand daughter of Bucky's.

Every summer my visits to the Flees farm had to begin with a peak at the big boy himself. A true living legend he was and it was always a pleasure to see him.

I just happen to have been over to the Flees farm yesterday and it was clear how impacted the family is by the loss.

14 1/2 years of age shows how well taken care of this breeder buck was. In an industry where we all look for the next hot thing to come along it is nice to see we don't lose touch with where it all began.

R.I.P. Bucky

What a loss!!!! There should be a thread on how many big bucks he Sired !! What a list it would Be !!!

Sorry to hear the bad news Greg...Real Legends never die and neither will Bucky I think it is very safe to say he will ALWAYS be remebered by anyone who raises whitetailed deer!

Greg sorry to hear about Bucky, you guys were blessed to have him for so many years

Greg, I couldn't help but think about the other day while I was looking at a picture of Cardiac Kid and thinking how much he resembles Bucky. I believe he still lives on. He just has a new name. Sorry for the loss.

Hard to imagine Wilderness Whitetails without Bucky.....so sorry for the loss of such a great buck. Like you have always told me Greg....."that's the life of a deer breeder"

Bucky was probably my favorite buck ever in the industry. On top of that he lived on a farm where the owners acted with class. Even though they had the best deer in the industry long before some of todays "big guys" even owned a deer, they never let it go to their heads. In my mind the Flees family stands on top of the industry as far as having lots of great bucks while remaining humble and having true class. Bucky will always be their premeir buck in my mind no matter how many others like Sudden Impact they may produce. Sorry to hear of your loss.

When ever I would be looking at a pedigree on Quest or anywhere that has the Icon to view the sires in the pedigree. I would always have to stop and look at Bucky. What a BIG BUCK he was. I am sure people will be clicking on Bucky Icons for many years to come. I know I will. Sorry for the loss. Allen

Greg, VERY SORRY for your loss! He will definetly be missed. His offspring will certainly carry the torch on with no doubt the same CLASS as thier daddy did for an AMAZING 14 years! He is gone but not forgotten!

Sorry about the news .bucky was one of the best looking bucks in the industry. He has left his trade mark. Sorry mark twin lakes paradise
