some articles I read are now saying they were husky mixed dogs, not wolves

wow i have two huskys that live inside my farm they are fenced separate but never have done nothing but chase them off when near fence i would guess they turned wild domestic dogs will turn into pack dogs and kill just like wolfs hell all dogs came from the wolf but truly sad i hate to see it but i,am having trouble with something killing my blackbuck babies suspect it to be other blackbuck but could be grey fox packs these animals are extremly small when born and very fragile hope to get rid of the other buck soon again sorry to hear the bad news T&S

I sure would like to see these animals.  For a dog, without any mix of say yote or wolf in it would not do that kind of carnage. Chase and bite yes but to take down and kill...Ahhh Sounds fishy. Although it did say and im sure some did die from other causes from the chase. My big problem would be how they got in. I always stress to new buyers and farmers here to always cover that bottom of the fence. So important!!  Sorry to this farm. I cant imagine!

I follow the wolf issues in WI pretty closely, yes we can hunt them finally. I have never heard the DNR speak of hybrids or of anyone trapping or harvesting one. Sound real strange to me, especially when I know the DNR has specific regions for specific packs, even naming the packs and individuals some times. Would love to see a DNA test on the things. Ryan

I talked to a guy who drug the dead deer out with Chase, the 3rd WOLF ran right up the fence and over the top of it before Chase could get it shot. I'd say it would have to be a pretty big animal to do that. I watched a video of a mountain lion doing the same thing going over the fence at Wind Cave Park, the camera was used to monitor the fence for the Game Fish & Parks, see link below. HE'S JUMPING INTO THE PARK FILLED WITH CWD ENDEMIC ELK, THE ELK ARE OVER POPUALTED AND THERE IS PLENTY TO EAT!!!!!  Of course the DNR is going to say they aren't liable. Even if they were so called hybrids, it still took a wolf to make the cross. Evidentially they dug under the fence to get in to begin with. These wolves, mountain lions and out of control coyotes are gonna be the reason people will go on high fence hunts in the future, at this rate there won't be many quality deer left in the wild herds.

On another note, Last week our Game Fish & Parks let the fence down at Wind Cave and used helicopters again to try and push more elk out into the Black Hills and Custer State Park. This is because there is too many elk in the largest known CWD endemic herd and too few where it's suppose to be less. I'm glad our state realizes CWD isn't the big deal it has been made out to be the last 10 years.
