Mike your yearling is how most of mine look. Normally mine are at g2's maybe even g3's by now, but most are just now the past brows. I think this winter was a factor, it was one of the coldest on recent record. It doesn't seem to be hurting my older class bucks but I think this winter was rough for the young guys. Just my opinion. I wouldn't worry yet Mike, you got plenty of time and they are starting just fine. They will all grow in their own time frame. Good luck with them. Let's all hope for a good summer, no ripped velvet or broken racks.

I believe the same. 2 and 3 year olds are rockin and  the young guns are laggin behind. Most of mine are not even that big Mike!  No matter, The young guys are the future. Just need to keep them happy and healthy and they will serve us fine. We leave the big yearlings to the Texas guys. lol

Posting this for Jay Huber a friend down in south Alabama.

"Toot My Horn" at 2 (an Arty son)

By Rural King's dam Rural King was the best 2 year old typical we have raised to date. We have high hopes for this guy. He bred for us as a yearling. We had a Road Rage buck from his womb sis. our first fawn in May.
