ya no its sad ,this person contacted deer farmers for help ,to help what we all say we love the most (whitetail deer) but for some reason all everyone can do is ***** and argue with each other on these threads instead of help for this is the reason that i my self wont ask people on here for help .im saying this hopeing that some one will realize how stupid some people act on these forums when all people want is help . now go ahead and critizise me all you want i expect it, but some people need to realize all your doing is turning the other wise non deer farmers from what this form was established for, not mention all the deer farmes that do not want to state there opinion that could benifit us all because they dont want the drama.its childish and embarising as we should all be tring to help each other instead of fighting against each other!

Cloudcr,

You are correct in your post and I have let my emotions get the best of me on here from time to time. I was lucky enough to be apart of these forums years ago when there was much less fighting and a lot more joking and helping with each other. A lot of the good posters are gone or want nothing to do with these forums anymore and it is ashame. The real shame is when you do try and give your opinion you almost always get ridiculed for doing so. Well today is about something much more important than these forums, deer or anything else........Happy Birthday Jesus!! I Love you Father God! I am so Thankful for YOU and all that you have done for ALL of us....through Jesus! I pray that we all feel your love .....except your grace and live everyday knowing you are here with us just waiting to pour out your love on each of us .......all we have too do is ask for it......then except it!! how awesome is that? God Bless you All!!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm...........A person comes here to ask for advise as to what to do to a wild deer (which in most of america is illegal) gets tons of advise, then doesn't do any of it. I guiess I am one of those without much patience for such matters. Besides, the last time I looked, this forum states it is for deer and elk FARMERS. Sorry if you do not like the response some of us give to those fooling around with wildlife, but history dictates these kinds of interventions ALWAYS reflect negatively on real deer farmers. Merry Christmas!

oh i agree with what your saying about someone not doing something with advice but what im refering to is the arguing between farmers about whos the best or whos right about everything that turn others that whant to learn away, but thats just my opinion.

Thats kinda the reason i was thinking anyone who wants to read these fourms should have to be a registered user. That way we would know a little more about who is reading these posts.

Scott and Dr. Joe- please continue to grace us with your knowledge and experience. I am grateful to you both. Merry Christmas to all who celebrate this day!

Lana if you were here a short year ago you would have had the pleasure of having about 5 or 6 other people on here with the knowldege or close to the knowledge that scott and dr joe have!! Many smart and helpful deer people have gone by the wayside because of some of the stupidity and down playing of peoples help that goes on here. It is a shame when some come on here and give great info to someone in need and then someone else comes on here and downplays their advice. There are different ways to treat any certin problem and just because someones advice might not be the same way that someone else fixed a problem does not mean that someone can come on here and say you are over medicating or hurting your deer or doing it wrong......Its just doing something different!!

I don't propose to have "great" knowledge about deer, but I do have some (more than most) Over the years, I have learned not to sugar-coat my comments, or give a darn if I offend someone or care if they take shots at me. I will always tell you my thoughts about a matter, regardless if you like them or not. I will continue to post my comments until Russell bans me.

Great answer scott!!! Please know us new guys do thank you for all your help and thank you for having "Thick Skin' for some of the cheap shots some like to take at a few others on here but we have dicussed that person in our pm's!!! There is alot to learn on deer farming and from some of the past posts on here it seems as some have known everything from the start and still others like post and try to make it sound like they know everything!!!

I've been here since last June 2010, and have received a lot of great information. You guys have NO IDEA how much I've learned. My doe is the largest one of the entire herd at the farm where she is now (and she had a growing slow down due to a fractured tibia). My doe isi also very docile and doesn't pick fights with the others- she knows her place and is comfortable in her skin, knowing that she is the most lovely of all. hehehehehehe.

Seriously though, when I moved her to the other farm, I did so in a box that was constructed according to deer farmer instructions (thanks guys!), she was totally calm during the move (and Mark reassured me that would be the case) and I've been feeding her a combination of feed that I read about here, and she grew up on the best formula I could find (no redcap though), and I vaccinated and de-wormed her according to YOUR instructions, and I built a pen that would protect her from predators, even advising others to at least put up shade cloth. Everything I did, I did according to what you fellows suggested (and yes, there were others around early on too, but few are as experienced and qualified as Scott and Dr. Joe. Come on'! How many people actually have that intimate of knowledge as they do? I don't recall too many of them who know how to safely dose deer for anesthesia, or to AI them, or to do complicated transfusion-like stuff, and believe me, I read a lot. I also like to research and do whatever I do to the best of my ability. I think my doe and her size, demeanor and health (knock on wood) are testament to this. Oh yeah... and Dr. Joe has even answered my dog-related questions. What a guy! I know he's a Christian too, as is Mark and many others, and I can only hope to return the good that has been sent my way by way of their gifts and goodness. I visit this site daily because I learn something everyday- and I try to share this with others who may not be as well informed as I, thanks to ALL of you.

Great words lana but trust me when i say everyone on this site has a little something in their bag of experience that could help someone else on this site.. I ai my own deer.I dart my own deer and i treat my own deer. Many on here that i know also do the same. The problem lies when someone gets on here and tells someone good advice for a problem that worked for THEM and then someone comes back on here and downgrades that advice because thats not the way THEY fixed a same problem.Dont get me wrong Scott,Dr joe have a great amount of animal knowledge and if they decide to go by the wayside as many others have...Many will lose!!!
