Suddenly shoveling isn't fun anymore. Especially after 5 hrs of it. The drifts are ridiculous.

Last year we had the snow.....lots and lots and lots of it......know what your going through......I had 6 ft drifts in my runways...took a week to get it cleared .......now we have ice...ice and more ice........took a good spill tonight coming form the deer pens tonight can feel a bone chip floating around in my elbow from the fall........hurts a little!!! I hope the stupid ground hog is right........bring on the Spring!!!! I'm not ready for bottle feeding yet but it wouldn't take me long to be prepared if it meant winter was over!!!!!!

We only received like 12'' of snow here, but the 30-50mph winds we had all night made one H_ _ _ of a mess of things. Two full days of blading and snowblowing... Ready for spring here!!:mad::(

Must make more room. Choose from 5 ft., 6 ft. and even 7 ft. drifts. All different grades including clean, dirty, and even pelleted.:D:D

I wasn't kidding about choring being difficult. My tractor is a 2-wheel drive, no front-end loader, and chore truck won't push the drifts in the alley. Don't have a snow blower, and alley is 650' long, far too much to shovel (though it seems like it's a have-to thing right now). Last night I pulled three square bales down the alley on my kids' sleds in 3' drifts, backwards, one 9" step at a time. Very tiring! Only took 45 minutes to walk backwards from one end to the other.

Here are a couple of pictures from work, when we had to doze the drifts out for trucks to pass through the rural roads...

After going thru this blizzard, not sure if I need to respect the farmers up north a little more or if it just confirms that you have to be CRAZY to live up north.

I've had just about enough of this stuff with 20" Tuesday and now it is snowing again.

Does anybody sell snowshoes for whitetail !!

Barry you are right when that wind get up , that when I worry about something falling on the fence.

Not even close to what you guys get...But were not used to getting much of nothing. This one was a surprise ...I think they forcasted 1/2-1"...We had 3-4".....

I hate to burst the bubble but if you have cold ....like here in Saskatchewan you don't get the big dumps of snow and it is rare to get much rain .

Curtis you can have your cold buddy....I hate that bone chilling cold!!!!! Of course I hate the snow too......BRING ON SPRING I WILL TAKE THE MUD!!!!

I ALMOST feel sorry for you guys in the southern states getting all that snow and cold but then I bundle up in about 6 layers of clothes and pray that I don't fall down because I look like the kid in Christmas Story and Know that I'll never be able to get up again. And then I don't feel quite so bad. And have you ever heard of Lake Effect Snow??? Well that's what we lucky northerners get here in beautiful upstate NY. Four Seasons Mike can identify with that can't ya Mike? All kidding aside I hope you all get through this without any injuries to you and your deer all make it through as well. I worry with the all the drifting that they could get over the fences too.

Sandy we are getting pounded again tonite.Went bowling at 6 and got home at 10 with a foot of snow and its still coming!! I spent 3 hours in the pens today snow blowing around the INSIDE so nobody can get out. That was for the snow we got during the week and now this.Looks like super bowl sunday will be super blow sunday as now i will have to do the driveway and the pens INSIDE AND OUT.... Hope all are making it through this crap.. Just take out some fawn pics and think happy thoughts!!!

I found some hardended drifts that the deer were able to walk on top of, making my 8' fences more like 5' to them! Anyone ever had a deer walk up on the snow and make that leap? I think we'll be fine if nothing spooks them...still worth worrying over a bit.

where I live the cold is "dry" most of our weather comes from the west and 90% of the moisture in the winter falls on the Rockies, so the air by the time it gets here is very dry and doesn't have the bite moist air does. moist air at -20 is worse than dry at -40

Well we didn't get the big snow just ice the first round then 5" of snow today. Finaly have the power back on last night the ice did a number on the tree's and power lines around here but the deer dont seem to mind it at all.

Hope you didn't have to much damage. The cleanup from ice is a lot worse than snow in my book. I definately hate the ice.The latches all freeze, the shade cloth no longer lets the wind blow thru and starts tearing loose and of course there's always falling on my but! Eldon
