Very Cool. Your gonna have to call him Quick or Speedy or something like that.

Be sure to post us some updated pics as he grows more. It would be interesting to see how much he continues to grow.

There is blood flowing through his antlers, it shouldnt be any different than his ears. I have thought about it but there is nothing I can do. Darren

Darren,

Do you think we are dumb or what. Even I can tell that isnt an 8 month old deer! Look at his body size and the size of his ears.........LOL

Looking forward to the real pictures.

I did not know you had a farm in Texas. If I did not know any better I would say he was crossed with a Brahma Bull and a little Desert Sheep. I think them antlers are going to go full curl!

Got this pic off of a gamecam on our ranch 1/27/2011. Is this this years growth or last years? Any Ideas?

My guess is last years growth. I would say the animal has had his testicles hurt which stopped his hormone level which then stopped the antler development and the full cycle of velvet removal. Just a guess.

Jack, That was my thoughts as well. I am hoping when I check the camera again this weekend Ill have a picture of the other end to check for any signs of old injuries.

Might be a doe with antlers. All the does I saw with antlers looked like that year round.

Okay, Virgil said it so I didnt look like the Dummy saying it. That is my bet, antlered doe. A friend of mine has two and they look just like that year round. That is until we AI and knock them off every year. They are always still full of blood in mid November.

Virgil and Todd I agree that could be a possability. I think because of the lack of information in the picture its hard to tell. Jack brings up a good point also. If we had a side by side picture of this deer and another buck we would be able to reference a lot better. Another possability depending on the age of the animals in your enclosure is that he is quite old. I lean towards that not being the case as he would show some more signs of being old, such as a hanging gut and back. Those antlered does are fun to run into the chute arnt they?
